Sh' That's Hot Angry Ginger!

Welcome to Charbanero's Chile Chat and the long awaited first official hot sauce review. I only really got into hot sauce and collecting hot sauce within the last 2 years when I joined a Facebook group called For The Love of Hot Sauce. The very first maker I got sauce from in this amazing group was from Sh' That's Hot, from Shane Christensen and Shelli Ulrich, so its only fitting that I start with one of their amazing products. But first, I should start with some background about the company.

They're a young Chicago based, veteran owned company "focused on providing unique, high quality, all-natural hot sauces". As it says on the bottles, they started by making sauces and salsas and home and everyone kept asking for more. My favorite thing about this company is that a portion of every sale goes to a charity called Hope for the Warriors. I can't do justice in describing what this great charity does within this blog so I encourage everyone to check out https://www.hopeforthewarriors.org/.

When I first became familiar with Sh' That's Hot, they had 3 sauces in their lineup. They've since added 2 more. Today's I'm going to be reviewing what is probably their most popular sauce, Angry Ginger. The ingredients are simple. It has carrots, distilled white vinegar, habanero peppers, lime juice, ginger, garlic and salt. The consistency is a little on the thin side but it does have chunks of carrot and I'm guessing habanero peppers as well. Upon tasting it, I'm immediately tasting ginger and lime and getting the heat of the habanero very quickly after. I can definitely taste the garlic on the back end as well. I don't taste the vinegar at all, which to me is really a good thing. This sauce is extremely well balanced. For me the heat is probably a 3  out of 10 but if you're new to hot sauce it would probably be a 6 out of 10.

When I taste this sauce, I'm immediately picturing it on chicken, any white fish, and especially on Asian cuisine. This sauce is incredible in stir fry or on sushi. The great thing about Angry Ginger though is that I think you could use it on just about anything, from pizza to burgers too.

I encourage everyone to check out this, or any other sauces from Sh' That's Hot (reviews for the rest to come later). They're a great company with a great product. You can purchase their sauces at www.shthatshot.com.
